Elements

A defendant commits a class B misdemeanor prohibition of possession of certain weapons by a minor, when they are under 18 years of age and possess a handgun.

A defendant commits a class A misdemeanor prohibition of possession of certain weapons by a minor, for any subsequent offense of being under 18 years of age and possessing a handgun.

A defendant commits a 3^rd degree felony prohibition of possession of certain weapons by a minor, when they are under 18 years of age and possess the following: a sawed-off shotgun or a fully automatic weapon.

Fine

Class A misdemeanor: A fine not to exceed $2,500, plus a 90% surcharge.

Imprisonment

A defendant convicted of a 3^rd degree felony possession of certain prohibited weapons by a minor may not posses, use or have control of a firearm or ammunition for life.
